Effective October 20, 2026
Fletcher's Ice Cream & Cafe is a neighborhood shop at 306 E Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis. We'd like to keep this simple: we collect only what we need, we keep it only as long as we need it, and we never sell it. This page covers fletchersicecream.com. Here's the plain-English version of how it all works.
When you sign up for flavor updates, we ask for:
If you add a phone number, there's a separate, unchecked box asking whether it's OK for someone at Fletcher's to call or text you about your flavor updates. We only contact you by phone if you check that box, and only by hand, one person to one person. We keep a record of your choice and when you made it.
How we use it: to send you flavor updates and to confirm and manage your sign-up. That's it. We don't use it for anything else, and we don't add you to any other list.
Double opt-in: after you sign up, we email you a confirmation with a Confirm button. You're not on the list until you click it. If you don't confirm, we send one reminder, and after 7 days we delete your sign-up.
Where it's stored: in a private Google Sheet that only Fletcher's owner and staff who need it can open. Our website itself doesn't keep your sign-up details.
Unsubscribing: every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us. When you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to make sure we don't email you again, and we clear the rest of your information after 30 days. Changed your mind later? You're always welcome to sign up again.
You can also ask us to remove just your phone number or to delete everything we have about you.
Online ordering, gift cards, rewards sign-ups and catering requests are handled by Toast, our point-of-sale company. When you use those, you're on Toast's pages and Toast collects your information under Toast's own privacy policy. Fletcher's doesn't see your payment card details.
If you write to us through the Contact form or apply for a job on our site, we get the details you type in (name, email, phone, your message, and for job applications your availability and resume). We use them to reply to you or consider your application. These forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that you're a person and not a bot, and is covered by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
We don't sell your personal information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't trade lists. We share information only with the services that help us run the site and the flavor updates (Google, Webflow and Toast, described above), or when the law requires it.
You can ask us to:
If you live in Minnesota, state privacy law gives you certain rights over your personal information, and we're happy to honor these requests for any guest, wherever you live. Just contact us (below). We'll confirm it's you, and we'll answer within 45 days, usually much sooner.
We follow the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act: our emails say who they're from, and every one has an easy unsubscribe link, which we honor promptly. We only call or text if you gave us permission in the sign-up form. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to a text at any time.
Our website isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, tell us and we'll delete it.
We keep access to our sign-up list limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, but we take care of your information the way we'd want ours looked after.
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
